Top 3 Towns near Branson MO with Spectacular Lake Views
Branson MO is actually a small town with a population of 10,520 according to the 2010 census. But, it’s also a tourist destination attracting eight million visitors each year. It’s a stunningly beautiful area in the Ozarks with three gorgeous lakes and all the family fun and shopping that you can imagine. It’s well-known for live music entertainment and rivals Broadway or Vegas for theatre seating. There’s also no shortage of hiking and walking trails and with nearby Dogwood Canyon, it’s a nature lover’s paradise. Branson is located very near to the Arkansas border.
If you’re considering retiring to the Branson area, here are my top 3 towns near Branson MO with awe-inspiring lake views:
Hollister – Located just south of Branson, Hollister has a population of approximately 4,500 and sits on Lake Taneycomo. This cold-water, trout-fishing lake connects Table Rock and Bull Shoals lakes. It runs around Historic Downtown Branson at Branson Landing. There are many homes for Sale on Lake Taneycomo. You won’t find as many long-sweeping lake views, but the homes are convenient to Branson. Average price homes in Hollister are in the low $200,000’s, with lakefront home averages being in the $400,000+ range. Average price condos are low to mid $200,000’s.
If you’re looking for a golf community, look no further than Branson Creek off Highway 65 in Hollister. Beautiful scenic views, convenient to the Branson Airport and home to the Buffalo Ridge Springs Course. Branson Creek offers luxury homes and condos.
Forsyth –Travel east on Highway 76 from Branson, and you will arrive in Forsyth. It’s the Taney County seat, located 12 miles northeast of Branson. It’s home to over 2,500 people and sits on both Lake Taneycomo and Bull Shoals Lake. Average price of homes in Forsyth is approximately $150,000. Lakeview or Lakefront homes would be priced higher accordingly. It’s easy to find acreage properties here if you want to have more space or homestead. Forsyth offers small-town living near all the fun and excitement of Branson.
Near to Forsyth is Rockaway Beach, a popular vacation town. Kirbyville and Kissee Mills are also small nearby towns. Kirbyville has a highly rated school system and attracts families with young children. Kissee Mills offers homes with beautiful views of Bull Shoals Lake.
Kimberling-City – Located on Highway 13 west of Branson. Kimberling-City sits on the banks of spectacular Table Rock Lake in Stone County MO. The population is a bit over 2,500 and near Branson West, Indian Point and Silver Dollar City. Home prices average near $300,000 with lakefront homes priced accordingly. You can find beautiful condos in this area for under $200,000.
These are my favorite towns near Branson MO with spectacular lake views. Branson West is also a wonderful community near Indian Point and Silver Dollar City. It’s home to Ledgestone Country Club and Golf Course in Stonebridge. Stonebridge offers cabins, investment vacation condos and luxury homes in a Gated Community.
Take a scenic drive farther south on Highway 13, and you will find Lampe and Blue Eye, which have some of the most gorgeous lake views I’ve ever seen. These are very small towns, but still near enough to Branson to retire and enjoy life to the fullest.
There are many small towns near Branson MO. Springfield MO is 30 miles north of Branson on Highway 65. Along this road, you will find Saddlebrook, which is an absolutely gorgeous area with many luxury acreage homes. A few more miles north is Ozark, which is a larger town of about 20,000 people - between Branson and Springfield. Travel north on Highway 13 and you’ll find Nixa, which is a lovely community about the same size as Ozark. Both Ozark and Nixa are nearer to Springfield than Branson, but still close enough to enjoy all Branson has to offer.
